Title:
Loyalty Across Rivers and Mountains满江红
Description:
This work draws inspiration from Manjianghong, China’s timeless poetic tribute to patriotism and unyielding devotion. It re‑imagines Zhong Kui not only as a folk guardian, but as a figure embodying loyal integrity. Holding an imperial edict, he stands firm amid magnificent green‑and‑blue landscape scrolls. Behind him, the legendary general Yue Fei rides forth across rolling mountains, his spirit of dedication echoing through the ages.
More than a historical scene, this surreal piece contemplates the eternal spirit of righteousness and devotion to one’s homeland. Through the fusion of two iconic figures, the artist honors the noble ideal of unwavering loyalty that transcends time. Rendered in distinctive shadow‑imprint technique, layered brushwork brings depth to the grand landscape and solemn bearing of the characters.
This artwork is a giclee art print. All golden lines on the piece are hand‑painted by the artist, and it bears the artist’s traditional Chinese cinnabar seal. This is a limited‑edition reproduction. The couplets in the photos are props for shooting only and are not included.
Suitable for hanging in living rooms, shops, studies and offices.
The artwork arrives as a fully finished mounted scroll, with free worldwide shipping included.
